Update: I got a new adapter from another manufacturer and there is still a problem. I’ll give the item the benefit of the doubt. It may not have been defective. Only found this out after returning..Previous review: It worked well for a couple of weeks. Now it creeps along. delivering no more than 2Mbps on a Gigabit connection.

It seems great to get ethernet connected to my chromebook.

Easy to connect and solved my problem of a broken ethernet connector. It says produces a gigabit only produces about 650 megabits. still better than wifi.

Bought this to replace a defective model that was using the ASIX chipset..The one that went bad ( ASIX chipset ) only worked on my laptop NOT my new TV..Connected this to my brand new Sony X90J TV . restarted tv and it was recognized perfectly..( Unfortunately most new tv’s are only 100mbit ethernet … DUH to the manufacturers ! ).Had to install a driver for laptop ( Win7 ) and it works fine there too; so i have ordered a second one right away..FYI: TWO of these were only about $3 more than one of ASIX chipset..Hopefully they have a long life .. time will tell.UPDATE: Second one arrived. and also works perfectly. I also find that both of them are only slightly warm running. The ASIX chipset one i returned ran HOT; which is probably why it died..REMINDER: IF you are happy with this product. remember to REGISTER online to upgrade from 1 year warranty to lifetime.

Used this to create a firewall with a Raspberry Pi 4 and Openwrt. Needed to download some extra drivers from Openwrt but once it was done. it works perfectly.

Great price and delivery time. Daughter moved into residence at school and a wired connection for computers is a must. Unfortunately. I guess I am a little too old school and we were prepared with an ethernet cord but these days you will possibly need a USB connection. So got a basic description of what was required from her residence IT support and purchased it here on . Again timing was critical and shipping was fast with no issues with no extra fees. As described. it was basically plug and play following all of MS prompts that normally appear on your computer when using new devices. As per another review posted on . only possible negative is that the adapter does not have lights indicating all is good and data is moving back and forth. Other than that. appears to be built well and no issues so far with 4 months of usage. Would recommend to anyone in the need of such an adapter.
