      Not sure if it was supposed to solve all my problems but I have a bad sound board so I bought this to solve it. I can now use my headphones but I still can’t get speaker response. However. it may be my fault by just not connecting it right.

      I had bought a straight cable crossover not knowing you needed a chipped/powered version to really convert from HDMI to VGA..This device saved me having to purchase a new monitor when I upgraded the laptop and the laptop didn’t have VGA. I don’t use the audio link as I use my laptop as the main monitor and audio..I’ve recommended this to others as a cheap alternative to buying a new monitor.
