      There is not much to say. It either works or does not work. In this case. it worked.

      I needed to connect an older Dell 24″ 1080p monitor to my new laptop. I wanted to use an external dock for this so that I could also connect keyboard. mouse. etc. as well as the monitor with a single connector. This Rankie adaptor lets me connect the VGA out of my Dell monitor to the HDMI input of my external dock and it works well. NOTE: I did have one surprise as it wasn’t shown well in the photos. it isn’t as simple as monitor cable to this adapter. and then this adapter to your HDMI device. This adapter also needs power and that power comes via a USB cable. Luckily. my dock had an extra USB port. So you actually have three connections. the VGA out of the monitor to the VGA in of the adaptor. then the adaptor needs to connect to both HDMI *and* USB to function properly.
