      Happy with this product. bought it for a friend who instantly was super happy as he can now attach an older monitor to his laptop and have two screens to work from.

      The product works – I’m using it now. No user manuals were supplied nor were any available online. The purpose of the additional power USB connector and cable remain a mystery. The unit does not need an additional power connection to my PC – just as well because my new slimline PC has only 2 USB ports and one is used for the wireless mouse.

      Bravo. problem solved. Works where other couldn’t do the job..Tried both the powered Basic and the Moread adapters to newer HDMI sources (PS4 & Xfinity Flex) to an older VGA projector with no luck. This Rankie unit just worked straight out of the box on for both the PS4 and Flex..I used a 2A USB adapater (not included) to make sure the adapter was supplied with sufficient power..Will follow up if and when this stops working.

      This product was required to enable a second monitor to be linked to a laptop. The laptop only had hdmi and the screen only had VGA. It works as a solution. The picture quality is not as good as on the laptop but this could be down to the monitor itself. But good price that solved a problem.
