      Needed to use an old monitor with VGA only connection with a laptop that had HDMI to work from home . Worked well so far. Purchased a second one to keep in laptop bag for days I have to go into office as a backup for if a dock has been taken for home working or still for old laptops ..As a bonus I have some non UK region dvds that i can now watch on the monitor.

      Some older vga monitors can’t handle receiving the audio stream. it seems. I have 2 x Dell 21″ widescreen monitors that date back to 2006. Model numbers are E2009W and E207WFP.The simple answer is to plug the audio plug into the side of the cable. That’s it !.Great value this little cable.

      With our kids school changing to online classes at home. this Rankie HDMI to VGA adapter was exactly what we needed. Our kids laptop screen was too small for everyday use and since we didn’t have an extra monitor to plug it in. why spend the money when you can transform your older style TV to a monitor. We had an old television collecting dust in our storage and thought. why not make use of this? So I purchased this adapter from and plugged in the VGA port on the back of the tv to the HDMI port on the laptop and we were able to mirror the screen from the laptop to this old TV immediately. Now this old tv is only 720p so it’s not as clear as a HD TV but did the trick and no more squinting while trying to read the smaller screen. Why pay hundreds for a new Computer monitor when you don’t have to. Great product and quick delivery from . It’s a win win for everyone!

      Wanted to use two screens for my laptop but the monitor screen I had didn’t have an HDMI port. This came in clutchhh. At first. it wouldn’t detect the monitor but it eventually did. I don’t know how but it did. which is why it’s four stars. If it weren’t for that little confusion then it would be five stars.

      Picture quality was questionable due to the fact we were live streaming and may not have anything to do with the connector. It worked as intended but don’t forget it only works HDMI out to VGA in.
