Plug and play no added software needed. You do need a VGA Cable in order to achieve the desired output to your monitor/TV. I was a bit skeptical at first but once I read the description I felt assured that this was just what I was looking for.

The screw holes are a little to recessed for my vga cables retaining screws to catch but it still works fine
