      I needed a 2nd monitor. my work computer only had 1 VGA output with no HDMI… it did have a DisplayPort available. so a quick look on and I found this item..It was very cheap so I took a chance and got this. I have been very happy with it! I do not have admin privileges on my work computer. but after inserting this adapter into the computer the Windows 10 OS installed and configured it without needing any credentials. I was able to change the resolution without issue as well..Now to the nitty-gritty part of the review – this is fine for office work. it will not work for gameplay or anything that needs high quality (or a lot of video power)! I could not get the color to balance with my primary monitor either although it was close enough I was able to ignore it after a bit. On one reboot of my system. I had to unplug the adapter to get it to boot up where I could see images on the screen. but this only has happened once..If you need a cheap DisplayPort adapter. this will work fine for you. but know what your getting… if you need this for your primary home computer I would suggest just getting another video card and getting your video feed from it… for me as a work computer. it met my needs just fine.

      Using this for my nephew’s desktop whose video card only has displayport ports. though his monitor only supports HDMI and he already had an HDMI cable. Works fine. no issues. His monitor output is 1080p 60Hz. which works as it should. plug and play.

      Converting my GFX card’s DisplayPort to my monitor’s HDMI Input is working great. no issues..I didn’t do anything weird though. this is only a 1080p 60fps monitor. so not exactly testing the max ability of the adapter.
