   Everything I hoped it would be so much less of a mess than my old piece of junk. There is a little play side to side but it doesn’t seem to matter. I think I had a 3.25 hole.

   I like these. Replaced an older version with the rubber stopper under it and it just was a pain to use and the stopper eventually degraded. These fit catch everything and still lets the water out. They are a bit thin but I guess that’s ok for their purpose.

   The strainers have a chrome-like finish and are very sturdy. Since there are three in a box there is a spare. The holes are a smaller than the strainers on kitchen sink stoppers. They can be easily removed and emptied and can bein a dishwasher to clean periodically. We are very pleased with them.

   While it is hard to remove from my drain (wider ring with heavy duty disposer) it strains nicely and is a quality piece. No tarnishing or staining or rust it looks great too. It works so well sometimes it strains out too much gunk and gets plugged but much better than any slippage down the drain. It will not float up or allow anything to sneak beneath the rim.

    I’ve bought two sets of these: one for our primary home and the other for our vacation rental home. I’ve placed them in kitchen sinks and in the mudroom sinks. These strainers help prevent excess debris from going down the drain and into the septic system. I hope they help remind our guests to put less food and other debris down the drain.

    In the past 3 years I have gone through 2 sets of the ‘stainless steel’ mesh sink strainers. The mesh just wears through. These strainers look nice and solid and do a fantastic job of straining the sinks. Very happy.

    Immediately obvious that these strainers will be much easier to keep clean than the stainless steel wire mesh strainers I have been using. And because they will be easy to keep clean the stainless steel plate structure of these strainers will be much more resistant to muck buildup and eventual corrosion from food acids than any mesh strainer. Most importantly the small 2 mm (0.08 inch) circular perforations are only modestly larger than the openings in the mesh strainers I have been using so these perforated plate strainers will be effective in catching even small food scraps. Even with sticky food scraps a quick wipe with a piece of paper towel or a used napkin is all it takes to clean the strainer. I also like the shallow flat 1-inch deep basket of these strainers. The tapered 2-inch deep basket of the mesh strainers I have been using only made for more mesh area to try to keep clean and corrosion free.

    The many small holes mean that it both lets the water through and stops even very small things from going down the drain. Also they are a lot easier to clean than the old one with the plunger in the middle.
