I’m a big fan of JETech’s cases I’ve bought them for my last two iPads and have been very impressed with their texture slimness and general durability. This one is no different it’s a fantastic case! Sadly though while initial reports suggested that the iPad Mini 5 was generally the same as the 4 body-wise and should fit the same cases this one doesn’t really work. It will fit as in it snaps in fine but the volume buttons are placed slightly higher so the case is constantly pressing the volume up button resulting in the volume control overlay perpetually staying onscreen. The case also appears to slightly block the camera lens now but I can’t see any immediate effects on photos. The microphone has also been moved to the rear center of the iPad so the case blocks it (no Hey Siri use with the case on). These issues might be able to be solved with some careful dremeling which is what I think I might try but I’d approach with caution if you’re a Mini 5 owner who’s not prepared to modify it.
tl;dr: This is an excellent Mini 4 case. But if you’re thinking of trying it on your Mini 5 maybe look elsewhere. I’m hoping JETech brings out a legit Mini 5 case soon but until then guess I’m trying to fix it myself.
