      Simple device. Does what it’s supposed to and seems to be accurate to within a couple of degrees with consistent results. I bought this for my hibachi grill top to monitor temperature. This device does have a decently loud beep every time you pull the trigger for a reading though. I got annoyed with it so I took the device apart and pulled the piezo buzzer off of the cirquit board. Problem fixed!

      First use was to track and record my rising audio power amplifier heat-sink temperatures. Turned out although the heat sinks felt quite hot to the touch. this thermometer confirmed high temperature felt was only modest in actuality. and far below its maximum operating temperature. I llater earned this Class AB amp rnormally uns quite hot to the human touch! Good to know now with actual measured temperatures.

      I have no way to tell how accurate it is. and it seems to show some inconsistent values after several continuous measurements. but I think for the price it is OK.

      As I order a second of these thermometers I realize it’s been a year since I bought my first one. To be clear. I’m purchasing the second unit for my convenience. The first unit I purchased is still working well and on the original battery. I use it with my freshwater aquariums to check water temperatures. It works well and I have no complaints.
