      I got this thermometer for my soap making hobby. It is awesome. I don’t have to worry about cleaning off a thermometer anymore or dripping lye everywhere when I take it out or anything. And I only need one thermometer for the whole batch instead of having a separate one for the lye and the oils. I highly recommend it if you make soap. I imagine it would be good for applications like candy making as well (though I have not tried it for that.) Also if you ever wonder if it really is hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk you will have a way to find out!

      This device is very comfortable in the hand. Accuracy seems quite good too. I measured my freezer and refrigerator and the temperature displays on those matched the readings from this device within one degree F. Not sure I could ever put to the test the impressive stated temperature range though.
