      I have to say that I was sceptical about this considering the price. Happy to have been proved wrong though. Works perfectly.

      Just buy it. Not much else to say. Perfect. expected poor conversion but no. absolutely no faults. Awesome

      I have this hooked up to a 40 inch commercial display through a Sony 5.1 AV receiver. Currently the receiver is attached to several game console. Due to limitation with the display itself. I can’t test 1080p. but have confirm that 1080i. 720p and 480p all work. For future buyer buying this. you need to understand that HDMI and VGA are 2 very different type of signal (Digital vs Analog). there is no real native way to do the conversion passively. so a power source is a MUST. hence the need for the USB power. If you expect something that will just work without a power source. this is not for you.
