      This cable convertor is gets the job done perfectly! Before making a purchase I went to local computer accessary store and those there would cost 24 to 50 bucks!This one costs only 10 bucks but obviously has not much of a differece. At least I see no problem till today.

      My docking station for the Dell 7490 laptop decided it would no longer recognize my external VGA monitor. This started after some ‘updates’ were installed.I found this adapter to fix the problem. I plugged it into the monitor and directly to laptop HDMI and the monitor is now recognized.The unit also has a 3.5 mm audio port for an external speaker or headphones if you need that.It also has a micro USB cable for a power source as well but I do not seem to need that. It may be needed depending on the HDMI socket.

      Used this product to convert a HDMI signal from a laptop to a VGA input to a dumb screen. Worked perfectly. The laptop also sent the sound signal to the screen so lost all sound. Easily rectified by going to Settings selecting the sound output alternative to the Monitor/screen and all was well. Now very happy.
