      It works out of the box no problem. I haven”t used it for a extended period of time / long hours so I can”t say much more than that right now but I”ll update the review if needed. For the price it”s great!

      We use it to convert our blue ray/digital video player to our projector. It works great at separating the sound and video from the HDMI. I didn”t connect the external power option. I”m not sure if would make it look or sound better. I”m happy with it as is.

      I”ve used the adapter to connect a chromebook to an overhead projector. Worked just fine although initially it was a bit difficult to plug the projector cable into the adapter – a very snug fit however with a bit of pressure I was able to connect them. Seems just fine for the price

      This product works easily in hooking up an Xbox one X to a monitor with no HDMI or audio output. I plugged external speakers into the 3.5mm on the adapter and they sound great.

      The adapter arrived on time due to Prime shipping. I used this to add VGA port to a new computer so I could use my old reliable KVM. Plugged in turned on and was in business no problems.

      Maybe others” experience would be different but I got only static when trying to connect a Fire Stick to a VGA-input projector using this. Part of the problem may have been the female HDMI-to-HDMI adapter I tried to use to couple the male Fire Stick plug to the male output on this adapter but I”m not sure. I switched to an Apple TV which has a female port (and a 120V power cord rather than the Fire Stick”s 5V) and we were able to have a great home movie night. One note: Make sure to plug the audio cord all the way in – mine took some heavy shoving. Otherwise all we got was a loud buzz through the stereo. But once it was in all was well!
