      I was being cheap ….and did not want to send my old monitor to recycling just because my new desktop ( yeh I know. they are almost a thing of the past) did not have a DVI slot for the second monitor. The DVI to HDMI adapter did the trick. Works fine.

      I needed these because I have two monitors that did not have DisplayPort or HDMI outputs. My new pc only has HDMI and DisplayPort. These work really good in the picture quality is as good as I can get on these monitors anyway so they work great for me.
