      I used it to connect my laptop (HDMI output) to a monitor which only supported DVI input through HDMI cable. It worked very well.

      I ordered two of these adapters and they work fine. However one thing I did find frustrating was attaching them to the back of a monitor that was tight on space. There was no room to use your fingers to twist the screws in. It would have been very helpful if there were screwdriver notches in the adapter screws. What should have taken just a few minutes took almost a half hour because I had to use needle nose pliers to turn the screws a bit at a time.

      Its a standard HDMI to DVI adapter. If you leave it be after plugging it in the durability shouldn’t matter. If you are rough with it the pins might get bent. I use it for a secondary monitor on my pc and it works just fine.
