   I bought this case when my Kindle Fire 8 was new. Since then I’ve carried it around a lot. Mostly I’d jam it down into the cargo pocket of my pants and off I’d go. I mostly travel by public transit. and I spend a lot of time waiting at bus stops. so I like to have reading matter with me.. After nearly three years of this. my case was getting kind of beat up and raggedy. so I replaced it. No problem there. I never expected it to last forever. Three years was a good run. The important thing is that. when I took it out of the case. my tablet still looked like new. Except the wear of rubbing my finger across the glass over a hundred thousand times or so. the tablet had been totally protected. The case had taken all the knocks. scrapes. bumps and lumps. That is what I bought it for and that is what it did. When my new case wears out. I would not hesitate to buy another of these as a replacement.

   and in the ensuing 3 years. it has protected my Fire 8 from more than a few drops without any damage to the Fire 8. The picture shows the result of a 4 foot drop onto a concrete floor. landing on the tip right corner. arguably the worst case scenario. The crack is not in the screen. but rather in the “JETech Screen Protector for Fire HD 8 (2018. 2017 and 2016 Model). Tempered Glass Film” The Fire itself was unscathed. The case is beginning to fray along the edges and the wake up magnet has been super glued back on. normal for three years of the kind of abuse I am unfortunately prone to inflict on small devices. Now I just purchased a Fire 10 HD and I am definitely going to get the same kind of case and screen protector. I took off 1/2 stat for the crack. but I should of perhaps gone up to 5 1/2 stars for keeping the unit functional after the concrete kiss. Who reads the perfect 5 star reviews anyways…

    This is a good product for the price. Just make sure you order the one that goes with the year of your Kindle. The newer Kindled are sized differently.

    I’ve been using this case for about a month. I use it everyday on my Kindle and so far it’s holding up very well. The case itself is very sturdy and durable. The magnets hold it up when you fold it to watch videos on an angle..Really good for the price.
