      I have an Acer R241Y monitor and needed a longer VGA cable due to a reconfiguration of my workspace. I tried two other cables and neither one of them worked. The system would not recognize my monitor and instead listed it as a Generic Non-PNP monitor with an incorrect screen resolution. This cable works great and the system now recognizes my monitor correctly.
