      I have an old Lenovo w541 with only mini DisplayPort 1.2 but no HDMI. I bought this converter cable for my new LG 27UL850-W 4K monitor. It just works and I have confirmed from Intel HD Graphics console of W541 that the output is 4K@60Hz. On the other hand. I bought a mini DisplayPort to HDMI active adapter and it was a total failure.

      This was a perfect find. I was able to connect my MacBook Pro to my external screen with ease. I have used HDMI adapters and connectors in the past and have had more issues with those then using the connection with the mini dp to dp connection.

      Accidentally broke this the day after I bought it. However. I was twisting my monitor and the cable stayed in the whole time until I snapped it. So. this is a very durable cable for the price and the clip holds it in well for how much force I put on it. Would definitely buy one again instead of the cheap dongles you get from other places.
