      I used it for awhile and then bought one with a longer cable. This one does the exactly same thing. so I can recommend this for anyone wanting to run a HDMI from a mini video out. I have a 2013 Mac book with no modern connections so I hooked this to the MINI video port and the other end to an HDMI cable plugged into the TV and there it was. So easy and intuitive.

      I bought this to connect a little Lenovo X230 to a HD television via HDMI. I haven”t tried it with Win10 yet but running Linux (Mint 19.2) I”m able to run a video on the TV while viewing a website on the laptop”s own screen. The video image on the TV took a few seconds to stabilize but once it did I had no issues. Seems sturdy enough connectors grip well too.
