      The adapter connects from my Thunderbolt slot on my older MacBook Pro to the HDMI cable connected to my Acer monitor which i use for my Dell work computer. At first i got a picture that came and went and then only got a nice clear picture of the Sierra desktop picture but no content. Not a hardened mac user as i only use it for personal use but played around and got it to work perfectly. On my Mac I went to the display icon at the top and opened display preferences i then turned mirroring on under Arrangement tab. I am so happy as now i can display my pictures on my monitor. Wahoo!! Such a cheap and easy enhancement to my Mac. Hope this is helpful to others.

      As people move to HDMI type links for projectors you need a computer-to-hdmi adaptor. I do a lot of presentations and was often borrowing a connector for my old Macbook to connect to a new projector. I had the standard adaptor but was not willing to pay a fortune for a new original Mac adaptor when this does the job at a fifth of the price.I’ve used it a few times and it’s now part of my presentation kit I always have ready for when I need to do a presentation.
