The magnets do not have a death grip on the ipad but and if you shake the back the ipad does fall flat like in other peoples videos. But who actually picks up their ipad like that. its not the normal use case. The slightly weaker magnets. in my opinion . is actually a good feature for the iPad 12.9 especially because it is such a thin device. if the magnets were too strong and the case was not 100% level. no doubt bendgate will happen. Just google bendgate. ton of people report the 12.9 and 11 bending even in their sturdy cases. My theory is those cases do not fit perfectly but slightly smaller. causing iPad to bend. In my experience even 12mm difference is enough to cause a slight curve. Anyway. this case is the only one that fits perfectly because it has no sides around the iPad. But its also its weak point. They shouldve made the 2 boards slightly bigger. jutting over the iPads edges so that at least the sides can be sort of protected but the sides are very close to the edge. I suppose its a tradeoff I will have to live with. I just wish it was cheaper because 2 magnetic boards for $25 is overpriced though not as overpriced as the ones on apple website..Tldr; buy if you are scared of bendgate. but you will lose some protection around the edges. Magnets are good enough if you treat you iPad like an expensive machine and not a child toy..I will edit this post if my opinion changes

Even though I bought the wrong size. the seller was really good about helping me swap to get the right form factor! I was really appreciative and made sure I purchased again. The replacement came quickly and fit perfectly!

I love this case. It is light weight. easy to carry. It suits all my needs for non keyboard things I do on iPad. If you are looking at this item. I would advise to go ahead and hit that cart and purchase button.
