The fit was perfect for my 5th generation ipad mini. and the cover did not add too much bulk or weight to the tablet. But the rubberized coating on the hard plastic back did not provide as much grip as I would like. In less than two weeks the coating began to wear off. as can be seen in the photo. leaving a slick plastic surface. Further wear would make the cover as slick and easy to drop as the actual metal back of the ipad. I have used other covers of this type for over two years without such wear. Arranging for a return was very easy. and gave me credit within 24 hours.
