      use it for my second monitor because unfortuatly my GTX 1060 6gb only has DVI 1 HDMI and 3 Display ports but both my monitors one at 1080p and the other at 1280×1024 don”t have HDMI ports so running VGA from my second monitor and plugging this adapter into it and then into my card works just fine.

      I needed an HDMI to VGA adapter to connect video between my PC Monitor (without HDMI input) and my DVD Recorder (no VGA output). Quality loss from HDMI to VGA wasn”t an issue because I was using the DVD machine to record via SCART connections from a VHS recorder which in turn was feeding out dubbed home video camera tapes from the early 1990”s . I didn”t need (or use) the adapter”s audio feed or the USB connector; I was able to use a separate phono plugged audio feed.

      though make sure your computer is outputting: 1) the correct resolution 2) the correct refresh rate. I was having problems where I had set the correct resolution on my PC but my monitor would use a different resolution. I fixed this by changing the refresh rate.
