      ..I had an old cable box and new tv and limited choices during pandemic shut down everywhere including customer demands on cable company. old cable box was DVI and of course tv is HDMI.connection obviously simple. by weird coincidence my daughter had the same issue with an old monitor and ordered the same item as well.make sure you: 1)check length of cable to meet your set up. 2) make sure you want male to male

      When the laptop screen isn’t large enough and the 22 monitor has DVI input when the laptop only has HDMI output you need this. Worked great. My wife is much happier working from home now. We plugged it in pressed function-F8 (Asus laptop) and whallah! The screen was now mirrored onto the monitor.
