      I have a gaming pc and a work pc on my desk. both of my monitors only have 1 display port and 1 hdmi. my work pc however only has displayports or VGA. This was the only way i could clear 3 extra work monitors off my desk without having to swap cables every time i needed to log into work. The displayports are reserved for the gaming pc and using the hdmi port on these monitors i was able to go up to a 16:9 aspect ratio vs the 4:3 aspect ratio my work monitors only provided. I have significantly more desk space now with a very similar amount of screen size. These are also nice if you have a 4k tv you would like to run games on from your GPU.
