      These cords work for BOTH charging and transferring data between USB-C devices such as smartphones (Android type only. unless you have an adapter for Apple types). The vast majority of aftermarket USB-C cables are only good for charging. The one that came with your phone generally does both. but may not have the current (Amps) capacity for fast charging (like these do).
